The Impact Ranking, or THE Impact Rankings, is a global university ranking system that evaluates universities based on their social and environmental impact. The rankings are organized by Times Higher Education (THE), a leading provider of higher education data and analysis.
Unlike other university rankings that focus primarily on research and teaching, the Impact Ranking considers universities' contributions to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ranking evaluates universities based on their activities and initiatives related to social responsibility, outreach, sustainability, and impact on global issues.
The Impact ranking includes nearly 850 universities from over 90 countries and covers 17 SDGs. The ranking methodology is based on data provided by the universities themselves in addition to other sources of public data. The ranking provides a unique perspective on universities' contributions to society beyond just academic accomplishments.
The Impact Ranking is a useful tool for students, researchers, and policy-makers who want to understand the social and environmental impact of universities and find institutions that align with their values and priorities.
